How are you getting your art fix this winter?

The U offers up an assortment of ways to be a patron of the arts.

When was the last time you listened to a musical performance, watched a play or enjoyed a piece of art? The pandemic has certainly thrown a wrench in the way we usually integrate the arts in our lives, but fear not, the U is working hard to help all of us get our arts fix in safely this winter. After all, the arts inspire, help us feel emotions and transcend cultural boundaries—a lift we could all use after a tough year. Here is a list of some of the upcoming art-related events.


Holiday season | Pioneer Theatre Company | Let It Show: Perfectly Pandemic Productions

Dec. 5–23, 2020 | Pioneer Theatre Company | Digital reading of “A Christmas Carol”

Pioneer Theatre Company presents Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” a digital reading of the beloved Christmas tale. Split into five parts, with 12 actors, previous readings will remain online for viewing at a later date. Watch here.

Dec. 12-31, 2020 | School of Music | U Opera’s “A Christmas Carol”

U Opera’s 2019 performance of “A Christmas Carol” will be available to stream throughout December. The production was awarded first place in the National Opera Association’s higher-ed Opera Production Competition 2019-20. Watch here.

Jan. 27, 2021 | UtahPresents—Arts Elevated, Public & Visual Art

A series of six panels focused on artists in six artistic disciplines, beginning a conversation about equity and creativity. Learn more.
