Over the summer break, Commuter Services has streamlined the process when paying for visitor parking on campus. Parking in one of the convenient visitor lots or hourly parking stalls across campus can be paid for at one of the self-service kiosks in visitor lots and by phone or text. A new payment feature at visitor lots is now accepted by scanning a QR code on the kiosk or signs placed throughout the lot. Mobile payments can also be made at all for-pay stalls located across campus.
This new process EXCLUDES the University of Utah Hospital and health sciences campus, which remain on a separate system.
An added feature is the ability to pay by texting “ULOT” and the one or two-digit lot number to 25023. Users will receive an automated text back with instructions and the next steps. Parkers will find instructional signs like the example shown below on lot entry signs throughout campus.
U partner, MobilePay, is a web-based platform that provides a simple and convenient way to pay for parking on your smartphone. Downloading an app is not required and neither is creating an account—but accounts can be created for frequent users to track expenses and view past receipts in one place.
MobilePay gives users the option to save their license plate and card info for future use, making it even easier to pay on your phone the second time. And third. And fourth.
Looking for a place to park? MobilePay offers the ability to search for parking locations on a map and navigate to a location directly from the platform. Just text "UPARKING" to 25023.
MobilePay allows parkers to use their phone to pay for hourly parking. It is already being utilized in all visitor parking kiosk lots including the Business Lot (Lot 12), Union East Lot (Lot 28), Student Services Lot (Lot 33), Medical Garage (Lot 64), Marriott Library Lot (Lot 6), Student Life Center Lot (Lot 25).
Nearly all parking lots and for-pay stalls on the U’s main campus and within the Fort Douglas area will be on this new system by the beginning of the Fall 2022 Semester.

Some of the advantages of this product are you can either scan a QR code or text the P-lot code (ie. ULOT22) to 25023, and the parker will be directed to the website to pay (no app to install). There is also a function that allows you to navigate back to your car if you’ve forgotten where you parked.
