Michelle Tuitupou, an academic advisor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, has been appointed to a seat on the Salt Lake City School District Board of Education for the remainder of 2020.
Tuitupou, a first-generation Samoan, is also a member of the State of Utah Multicultural Commission and Pasifika Enrichment of the Arts in Utah, and a participant in the Westside Leadership Institute, according to a Salt Lake City School District release. Three of her four children have graduated from the school district, and one is a middle school student.
“So’o le fau ma le fau,” she said in the release. “In working together, we can accomplish great things.”
