Graduates and guests may park on campus for free during commencement and convocation ceremonies. As campus parking is limited, visitors are encouraged to use the free U shuttle service to travel between commencement events. Shuttles run throughout campus and are scheduled every 10-15 minutes. The U campus is also a TRAX free-fare zone on May 2 and 3.

Kingsbury Hall

We recommend that all convocations attendees park in the Rice-Eccles Stadium Lot located on 500 South and University Street. There are other lots closer with high likelihoods of being full. So, save yourself a headache and park at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Campus shuttle routes will be running between Rice-Eccles Stadium and Kingsbury Hall.

Attendees are advised to park in the surface lots designated in red. Attendees in need of accessible parking may view options by visiting maps.utah.edu and selecting the “Accessible” option from the Map Features drop-down menu.

Faculty and staff

To alleviate frustration due to lack of parking spaces, we especially encourage faculty, staff and students not affiliated with graduation ceremonies to avoid parking on campus and instead, ride UTA. We recommend that those who must drive to campus plan accordingly and park in the Guardsman Lot, located on 500 South and Guardsman Way. Take the Business Loop shuttle route that runs from the Guardsman lot to the Central Garage.
