U Giving Day: Celebrating 1,850 minutes of impact

Mark your calendars! The University of Utah’s much-anticipated Giving Day is just around the corner. On April 2nd and 3rd, the university community will come together to celebrate 1,850 minutes of giving back.

For our 6th Giving Day, we are raising funds for 6 important causes at the U, and there are several exciting ways for students, alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and fans to get involved and elevate the cause that is most important to them.

  1. Become a Champion: Choose from any of the more than 80 areas represented on Giving Day to champion. By rallying your friends, family, and social networks, you can spread the word and maybe even win a prize if you’re our Truest Champion. Don’t forget to tag us on social media (@UofUGiving) and use the official hashtags #UGivingDay and #LoveU2024 to join the online conversations and contests.
  2. Campus Events: For those on campus, the excitement continues with brand new events:
    • Join us for the U Make a Difference Event outside of the Student Union from 11am-3pm on April 2nd, where students, faculty, and staff can write thank you cards, grab some food, and even participate in a cash grab for donations!
    • We’re also celebrating our faculty and staff donors on April 2nd and 3rd in the Alumni House from 10am-4pm. Stop by to grab a cookie and a small token of our appreciation.
  3. Student Championships: Individual Students and Student Organizations can compete to see who can be the biggest champions for the U! The individual students and student organizations will compete by using their unique links to spread the word about Giving Day on social media and generate donations for the cause they care about. We will provide a toolkit to give you tips and help you get started! To participate, sign up here.

On April 2nd and 3rd, let’s come together, share our love for the U, and make Giving Day a memorable and meaningful event. Together, we can make a difference!
