University staff and faculty always receive free admission to the museum, however this event allows these individuals to bring their spouses, partners and kids to enjoy a fun evening exploring the natural wonders of the Earth.
May 27, 5 – 9 p.m.
Natural History Museum of Utah | Rio Tinto Center
301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City
The theme of this year’s event is Bluegrass and Dinosaurs. Featuring live music from “The Lab Dogs,” a local bluegrass band, this event will bring together fun music and the rich exhibits at the museum including the dinosaurs in its “Past Worlds” gallery.
This event includes free admission to all exhibits including the current special exhibit “Extreme Mammals.” This exhibit explores the surprising and extraordinary world of mammals. Featuring spectacular fossils, skeletons, taxidermy and vivid reconstructions, the exhibition examines the ancestry and evolution of a vast array of species, living and extinct. It showcases creatures both tiny and huge that sport such weird features as oversized claws, massive fangs, bizarre snouts and amazing horns. And it examines what might be the most extreme mammals of all−humans.
Guests will also receive free chocolate truffles while supplies last.
