Listening sessions for safety on campus

The University of Utah Department of Safety is committed to provide a safe learning environment for students, a safe working environment for faculty and staff, and a safe experience on campus for all those who visit. In that spirit Chief Safety Officer Keith Squires will be holding a series of listening sessions to learn how better to understand the concerns of the community, address the unique safety needs of its members and build relationships that will benefit us all.

CSO Squires believes all perspectives must be welcome for the role of campus safety to evolve at the University. He is hopeful these listening sessions will help the various parts of the department improve their protocols, increase accountability, and connect more effectively with those who they are charged to protect.

These listening sessions can be tailored to your preference: one-on-one, in small groups or with larger gatherings. They can either be held at the soon-to-be opened Public Safety Building (complete with a tour) or at your preferred location. Food and drinks will be provided by the department.

If you are interested in scheduling a session, or would like more information, please contact Brian Nicholls, Special Assistant to the Chief Safety Officer at Brian.Nicholls@utah.edu.
