No matter where you are in your journey, the career and internship events can propel your career forward.

Whether you are just starting to explore different career options, making progress towards your goals by actively seeking opportunities or are already interviewing for internships and jobs, Internship & Career Days will propel your career forward no matter where you are in your journey.

From Jan. 25-Feb. 10, the Career & Professional Development Center is partnering with various university departments and employers to connect you with amazing career development opportunities. From networking and mastering your resumes and cover letters, to meeting top local and national companies, there is something for everyone.

Below is a breakdown of all the upcoming career events with detailed descriptions, logistics and preparation tips. All events are searchable in Handshake, the exclusive internship and job search platform for U students and the best place to connect with the career center’s staff and events.

Prep events

Prepare to show your best professional self to employers—virtually and in person—by getting a professional photo for your Handshake or LinkedIn profiles and having your resume and cover letter reviewed by career coaches or employers.

General Resume Reviews

Have your resume reviewed by one of our career development interns in our walk-in Career Studio. No appointment necessary, walk in any time during our open hours with a copy of your resume. See the Career Studio hours here.

Meet employers, explore internship or part-time and full-time job opportunities in different fields and get hired.

Student Job Fair (In-Person)

Find a part-time student job to earn extra cash this spring or summer. Includes both on-campus and off-campus part-time jobs that are flexible with your student schedule.

Dress is casual (no need for professional dress, just come as you are).

No formal preparation is needed, but having your resume reviewed in the Career Studio as well as reviewing a list of registered employers in Handshake will be helpful.

Internship & Career Fair (In-Person)

Explore career opportunities, network with employers, find an internship or full-time job in a variety of non-STEM fields. You don’t need to be looking for an internship or job to attend, we also encourage first-year students to attend to begin connecting with employers and exploring career opportunities. Includes nonprofit, government, health care, corporate sector, etc.

STEM Internship & Fair

STEM Internship & Fair Day 1 (In-Person)

Explore career opportunities, network with employers, find an internship or full-time job opportunity in the STEM field. Some employers may be looking for students who have completed their first two years of coursework, but attending the fair as a freshman is a great opportunity to learn about employers and network with them.

STEM Internship & Career Fair Day 2 (Virtual)

Explore career opportunities, network with employers, find an internship or full-time job opportunity in the STEM field. This fair will be conducted virtually in Handshake.

Additional preparation is necessary for this fair, including signing up for sessions with employers after registering. If you do not sign up for sessions and create a fair schedule, you will not be able to connect with employers. Civil & Construction Engineering Expo (In-Person)

Explore career opportunities, network with employers, find an internship or a full-time job in the Civil & Construction Engineering fields. Some employers may be looking for students who have completed their first 2 years of coursework, but attending the fair as a freshman is a great opportunity to learn about employers and network with them.
