MEET THE GRADUATES

Civil war drove 6-month-old Naima Mohamed and her family from Somalia to a refugee camp in Kenya and after 15 years in the camp — Mohamed and her family were finally able to resettle in the United States. Everything in Utah, including the spoken language, was unfamiliar. She’s now in her final semester before graduating from the Master of Social Work program.

Jason Chen, who’s double majoring in biology and Spanish with a minor in international studies, refused to settle by picking just one or a few of his many academic interests—he pursued them all. Chen took advantage of the many opportunities the U offered and will graduate this May with multiple study abroad trips, research projects and a wide breadth of volunteer experience under his belt.

College of Law climbed seven spots in 2016 U.S. News & World Report rankings and is rated seventh nationally for environmental law. The school also improved in number of students passing bar exam, student employment and student quality measures.
