University of Utah President Ruth Watkins is taking a series of road trips this summer to meet with government, business, higher education and community leaders throughout the state and learn more about their needs and opportunities for partnerships. The “Ruth 66 University for Utah Road Tour” also is giving President Watkins an opportunity to visit with alumni and get to know the great state of Utah better as she begins her presidency. The first stop: Northern Utah.

Next stop: Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, where President Watkins and the U team met with Brigadier General Stacey T. Hawkins, Mike Moore, Jim Hutto, Cary Sparks, U alum Chris Kleinsmith, Devin Owens and Laurel Alstot (both U Health residents). The visit provided a great overview of the important work and role Hill plays in our defense system.
