CAMPUS POWER OUTAGE

Updates on the Rocky Mountain Power outage affecting the U campus.

UPDATE – May 20, 2016, 7:30 a.m.

On Thursday night into early Friday morning, the campus experienced another widespread power outage. Rocky Mountain Power reported that power was restored at 3:24 a.m. All lower campus buildings are now operational, as are most other buildings on campus.

Researchers should check their equipment to ensure it is operating correctly after the outage. If you encounter any further power issues, please call Facilities Dispatch at 801-581-7221.[/bs_well]

Rocky Mountain Power has now restored service. If your building is still without power, please report to 801-581-7221.

There is a Rocky Mountain Power outage affecting much of the University of Utah’s main campus. What few classes are being held at this time of year will continue at the discretion of instructors. Students should contact their instructor for additional information. Faculty and staff should stay on campus unless they are instructed otherwise by their supervisors.

  • Power at University Hospital is normal.
  • Huntsman Cancer Hospital is using generator power and patient care is not affected.
