FACULTY AND STAFF NEEDED FOR PROJECT YOUTH
Project Youth (9)
Faculty and staff presenters are needed for the annual Project Youth event Wednesday, April 29 (reading day). Project Youth is part of President David W. Pershing’s Community Engagement Day and is a collaboration between the Bennion Center and the Salt Lake City School District to bring Title I sixth grade elementary students to the U for a morning full of fun educational activities.

This is in an effort to expose these students to higher education and get them excited to come to the U. We are looking for faculty and staff to provide interactive, visual presentations that will engage the students. There will be two 35-minute sessions, one from 10:30-11:05 a.m. and the second from 11:40 a.m.-12:15 pm.

Watch this video to see examples of past presentations. Contact Rachelle Kline at rachellekline@live.com or 801-560-6207 to sign up.

RED BUTTE GARDEN NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
Red Butte-kids
Red Butte Garden is looking for school programs volunteers to work with kids (kindergarten – sixth graders) at Red Butte Garden’s summer camps and other family events this summer. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, get outside, meet new people and teach kids about simple botany and ecology.

Volunteers will also learn all about botany and ecology themselves so you don’t need to know it already.

Training for school programs volunteers is on March 25 and/or March 26, but there will be more training date options if people can’t make those dates.

Visit redbuttegarden.org/volunteer-training for more information or call Meghan Eames, volunteer coordinator at 801-585-5688.
