Advisor of the month: Annie Patterson

Advisor of the Month is a peer-nominated award in which staff on campus who have academic advising roles can give their advising peers recognition for their ability to go above and beyond in their roles and in the support they provide to students.

The current Advisor of the Month is Annie Patterson an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Center.

One colleague described our advisor of the month as one of the best advisors they have ever watched advise in their entire career! This advisor has worked to develop a communication plan and strategize effective use of an email and texting platform aiding in getting over 25% of undeclared students scheduled for a MAP appointment. This advisor responds to campus wide questions and situations, leads presentations and supports their team. One survey respondent simply described this advisor as “AMAZING.”

Annie shared the following about her role as an advisor:

“Working with students is the best part of my job. As an advisor, I want to advocate for students in order to reduce challenges they may face and empower them to take ownership of their education. College can be a time of self-discovery both in and outside of the classroom and I am honored to support students on that journey.”

Congratulations Annie Patterson!
