The University of Utah is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Mason as the new registrar, effective July 25. Mason was selected after an extensive national search and will report directly to Steve Robinson, senior associate vice president for enrollment management.
With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Mason currently serves as the registrar at Ball State University in Indiana. Her expertise spans educational technology, learning and student development and program development. She has held various roles in the field, including assistant registrar, associate registrar and registrar since 2011.
Mason holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in education from the University of Hartford. Additionally, she earned a Master of Arts from the University of Connecticut.
“The registrar is critical to supporting the academic enterprise and student success,” Robinson said. “Erin’s experience at other institutions, combined with her technical skills and collaborative mindset, will make her a wonderful asset at the U.”
Before joining Ball State University, Mason worked for 11 years in the University of Connecticut registrar’s office. Mason has been an active member in state, regional and national affiliates of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and has held several leadership positions since 2012. Mason was a founding member of the AACRAO Women’s Caucus and currently serves as the vice chair for member engagement.
“I am excited to join the U and serve as a mentor to my team,” Mason said. “I love creating scalable solutions that meet the needs of multiple groups of people, and I am eager to serve the students at the U.”
