The University of Utah Registrar will postpone publication of the Fall 2021 Semester class schedule until March 29.
Normally, the fall schedule is posted on March 15. Given rapidly shifting public health conditions and the expectation that all adults will have an opportunity to be vaccinated for COVID-19 before the fall semester begins, the two-week delay will give department schedulers extra time to plan for in-person classes, said University Registrar Tim Ebner.
Registration still will begin on April 12.
“Our goal is to have a complete fall semester schedule when it is published, so students and faculty will not have to make any unnecessary changes over the summer,” Ebner said.
The university will continue to follow public health guidance from the state and county health departments, as well as U of U Health epidemiologists, regarding physical distancing and masking in the fall. Classes start on Aug. 23.
