Strategy Refresh

It’s time to reset the U's aspirations and your help is needed by bringing your ideas to the second town hall meeting on May 15.

It’s time to reset the University of Utah’s aspirations and your help is needed.

President Ruth Watkins and Senior Vice Presidents Dan Reed and Mike Good will host the second of three Strategy Refresh town hall meetings on May 15, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House. Please RSVP by May 13 to president.events@utah.edu.

The U has made great progress on its four strategic goals—knowledge transfer, student success, community engagement and ensuring the institution’s long-term vitality—over the past five years. While the goals remain the same, it’s time to craft a new plan for accelerating the U’s momentum over the next five years.

More than 110 faculty, staff and students participated in a lively discussion at the first Strategy Refresh town hall, held on April 3, 2019. To date, more than 50 ideas have been submitted to the Strategy Refresh website, ranging from how to better engage the community to how to help students complete their degrees faster. The ideas will help create a new 2020-25 strategic vision for the U.

“We invite you to engage in a conversation about how the U can successfully achieve these primary goals, elevating our university as a model for the nation,” said Courtney McBeth, project director and special assistant to the president.

The final Strategy Refresh town hall meeting is set for June 3, 2019. Can’t make it to a town hall? You can also submit your ideas online here.
