Jessica Sanders, David Turok, Sarah Elliott, Sonia Salari and Allyson Mower presented the following resolution:

This resolution provides Academic Senate Affirmation of support for the Campus Contraceptive Initiative (CCI). The CCI program works to increase contraceptive access and reproductive health education at the University of Utah. This resolution supports the Campus Contraceptive Initiative goal of provision of no-cost contraceptive services to students, faculty, staff and their partners, as well as providing comprehensive reproductive health education on campus.

Christy Porucznik, Ph.D. MSPH, professor and vice dean for faculty, Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, presnted the following proposal:

We propose the Division of Medical Education to serve as the academic home for faculty appointments for community faculty engaged with medical student education. These faculty are currently appointed in various departments, and consolidating the faculty appointments of community faculty into one Division will facilitate efficiency, enhance faculty development, retention and evaluation activities.

Human Resources is proposing changes to Policy 5-211 in response to a statutory change made by the Legislature that changed the scope of the types of complaints that are subject to the policy from complaints of “adverse actions” to complaints of “retaliatory action.”
