Popcorn trees and skunky blooms

Reposted from the Red Butte Garden blog.

The sun is shining, the blooms are popping and spring is officially showing off. As you can see, now is the perfect time to visit Red Butte Garden.

Princess Kay Plum (Prunus nigra "Princess Kay")

Looks like popcorn popping on the plum tree. This beauty is in full bloom and makes for a perfect backdrop for a self-portrait.

Daffodil (Narcissus "Chromacolor")

You’re so vain, you probably think this blog is about you… and honestly, it is. Did you know daffodils come in colors other than yellow?

Ballhead Waterleaf (Hydrophyllum capitatum)

A low-key Utah native hiding its charm under a leafy disguise. Subtle and seriously underrated.

Daffodil (Narcissus "Curly Lace")

Think you know daffodils? Think again. This unique cultivar is a curly, frilly surprise—come see for yourself.

Cayuga Koreanspice Viburnum (Viburnum carlesii "Cayuga")

These blooms are just starting to pop—and once they do, you'll want to breathe in that sweet scent all season long.

Flowers made up of a bunch of tiny bulbous pink and white tiny flowers.

Crown Imperial (Fritillaria imperialis)

Think you smell a skunk? You may want to look around for these bold flowers. Along with being showstoppers, they are also nose stoppers. You have to come smell for yourself.

Bright tangerine flowers shaped a bit like droopy bells.
