Every year, the University of Utah’s Office for Global Engagement coordinates International Education Week, which started through an initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education that invited educational institutions to collectively promote international programs that prepare students for a global future. This annual week of events has grown into so much more.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 14, and continuing through Friday, Nov. 18, this year’s lineup features more than 20 events spanning the U’s main campus in Salt Lake City and U Asia Campus in Incheon, South Korea.
Events will include the following:
- Flag parade of the 106 countries that make up our international student population
- K-Pop and Flamenco dance workshops
- Virtual cooking classes
- Scholarship and program info sessions
- Lectures and panel discussions
The annual favorite, International Night, caps off the week’s events. Celebrate the diverse student population at the U as participants share their cultural heritage through song, dance and other media. Not only does the event showcase the incredible talents of our students, but it also provides an opportunity to help fund the International Student Council Scholarship through the proceeds from this event. The scholarship is awarded to a current international student who has shown exceptional dedication to promoting cultural sharing and understanding on campus.
All are welcome, so don’t miss International Night and the other International Education Week events.
