Stallions Snapshot

Composed of former players from the Utah Utes, USU Aggies and the BYU Cougars, as well as former NFL players, the Salt Lake Stallions hold appeal for all -or most- of the state’s football fan base. One of eight teams in the AAF, the Stallions are led by Coach Dennis Erickson of 49ers and Seahawks fame, as well as Utah Utes fame. Getting to The Game

For a number of reasons, not the least of them being supporting clean air initiatives, taking alternative forms of transportation to Stallions games is strongly encouraged. While the university’s Game Day Ticket Program (where one’s game ticket also serves as fare on UTA vehicles) does not apply to Stallions games, public transit is still is the best, most direct and hassle-free route to campus for any event, especially on bustling game days. Take the TRAX Red Line to the Stadium Station, or ride the many UTA bus routes that stop there—the 2x, 3, 9, 220, 223, 228, 313, 354, 455 and 473. If you do choose to drive, free parking is available in the Guardsman Way Lot; the west parking lot of Rice-Eccles is reserved for credential holders, operations staff and the news media. No organized or sponsored tailgating will be permitted on Stallions game days.

Please note, Friday April 12, is the last Stallions home game beginning at 6 p.m., so be prepared for a slightly busier commute home.

Clear Bag Policy

The Salt Lake Stallions have adopted the clear bag policy already in place at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The policy asks that you bring only one bag that is transparent and not exceeding 12 inches x 12 inches x 6 inches. The bag can be any style, even a 1-gallon resealable storage bag, it just can’t be any larger than those dimensions. In addition, ladies may also bring a small clutch or purse for private items. Diaper bags are also allowed if you have a baby with you. If you do not already own an appropriate clear bag, there will be Salt Lake Stallions and Alliance of American Football branded bags for purchase outside the stadium gates throughout the season.

At the Game

Entry gates will open one and a half hours before all Stallions games, which incidentally, begin upon “First Snap” instead of the standard term, “kickoff.” Official Salt Lake Stallions apparel and merchandise will be available inside the stadium on game day in the concourse’s standard three Red Zone locations. Or, you can gear up now at shop.aaf.com. Food, drinks and snacks will be available on the east and west sides of the concourse, as well as on the south plaza.

Students, faculty and staff can score $10 tickets to any one of the Stallions five home games at Rice-Eccles during the 2019 inaugural season. Get your discounted tickets on game day by presenting a valid UCard at the box office or by using a .edu email address at smithtix.com under the student section tab (staff and faculty may use this tab as well).
