5 ways the library can help this semester

Get your textbooks

The Course Reserves area on level three is where you can find textbooks your professors have assigned. (A high-speed scanner is available for free.) But you can also find many of your textbooks embedded within your course. To connect to your course, download Mobile U or use portal.app.utah.edu. Check your class schedule for course material notifications. The Campus Store also has a special textbook section.

Check out the check-outs

Did you know that you can check out an iPad that you can customize? Other stuff available for free include laptops, chargers, cameras, calculators and more! Go to the Knowledge Commons on level two; some items are available at the desks on levels one and three as well.

ProtoSpace

At the Marriott Library ProtoSpace on level 2 you can try the latest virtual reality software and hardware, 3D print your experiments and prototypes, check out the latest gaming consoles, or even settle in with friends for a board game session.

Secret study spaces

Like peace and quiet for studying? There are several little-known quiet study spots throughout the library. And, did you know that you can reserve group study rooms? Go to Library spaces and select “Study Rooms” to reserve one.

Subject guides

You’ll want to impress your professors by using the best sources. Subject guides help you find the best databases by classifying by subject matter. It’s fast and you can also connect with librarians who have expertise in your area of research.
