Advisor of the Month is a peer-nominated award in which staff on campus who have academic advising roles can give their advising peers recognition for their ability to go above and beyond in their roles and in the support they provide to students.
The current Advisor of the Month is Stephanie Begaye, an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Center.
Our advisor of the month received several nominations highlighting the hours of work put into the recent Major Expo. Begaye relaunched a full-scale event after a hiatus of multiple years. The event took months of planning and served around 700 students. Begaye accomplished this while balancing her many roles.
Begaye shared the following about her role as an advisor:
“Working with students is the best part of my job. Making connections with students and supporting them along their journey of self-discovery and pursuit of their goals is an awesome thing to be a part of. As an advisor, I strive to make every student feel like they belong here at the U and that they have someone in their corner to support and cheer them on!”
Congratulations, Stephanie Begaye!
