Are you ready for the Real Life Challenge?

The Real Life Challenge starts today. It is a six-week lifestyle journey, dedicated to improving your health, fitness and overall well-being—one habit at a time.  This challenge is offered by Wellness and Integrative Health at University of Utah Health and is open to ALL University of Utah and University of Utah Health employees.

Challenge dates: Sept. 24-Nov. 2, 2018

“We are excited to launch the Real Life Challenge across the University of Utah and encourage all employees to take these small steps to improve their overall well-being. The University of Utah is committed to a culture of wellness and with this challenge, we hope to inspire our employees to be their best selves,” said Robin Marcus, chief wellness officer.

Each day for the duration of the six-week Real Life Challenge, you’ll get points for completing each of the five daily habits. You can earn up to five points a day and an opportunity to win a variety of prizes each week.

The Real Life Challenge will help you focus on your individual wellness. You’ll focus on your own physical and mental well-being. The 5 Daily Habits work together to create an effect in your life that’s hard to overstate—after a few weeks, you’ll feel energetic, present, strong, healthy, socially connected, and perhaps even happier.

Participating in the Real Life Challenge will help you become more self-aware, and more in control of your day-to-day habits. You’ll gain health and wellness knowledge that will last long after the Challenge ends, giving you the tools you need to build a healthier lifestyle for years to come.

You’ll keep score using our app, but the power of the Real Life Challenge is not in the points. Rather, it’s in the results that come from the five habits working together to improve your days, your relationships, and your overall well-being—an effect that is best understood through experience.

The five Daily Habits for points are based on:
  1. Movement
  2. Hydration
  3. Sleep
  4. Nutrition
  5. Gratitude

You’ll receive motivational and educational information three times a week during the six-week challenge. This information will help guide your efforts and help you build healthy habits for years to come.
