The University of Utah’s Division of Student Affairs has launched a new Wellness Hub, a centralized website aimed at helping students more easily access health, wellness and support services across campus.
The Wellness Hub serves as a starting point for students seeking medical care, mental health resources, wellness programs and guidance in navigating available campus support systems. The site is intended to reassure students that they don’t have to face challenges alone and provides simplified access to services by connecting students with resources in one location.

Research suggests that wellness is a key component of student achievement and retention, particularly as students balance academic pressures, financial stress and personal challenges. The U’s Student Health and Wellness team believes that student success starts with wellness, and the site reflects a broader institutional emphasis on student well-being and health literacy.

“We play a critical role in fostering health literacy and empowering students with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their well-being,” said Dr. Sherrá Watkins, associate vice president for Student Health and Wellness.

Accessed through Student Affairs’ Student Health and Wellness, which oversees several student-focused wellness initiatives and services, the Wellness Hub emphasizes a holistic approach to student well-being, recognizing the connection between health and academic achievement.

The site has consolidated access to services that were previously spread across multiple departments and websites across the U and aims to reduce barriers for students who may not know where to begin when seeking help. Students are encouraged to connect with a Peer Well-being Navigator directly from the site to begin their wellness journey.

They can also find information related to physical health, counseling and mental health support, wellness education, recreation, basic needs assistance and crisis resources online. It’s also possible to stop by the physical Wellness Hub in the Student Services Building for various services and programs, including counseling, wellness coaching, victim-survivor advocacy and disability services.

“The programs and services offered at the Wellness Hub are intended to help students forge their own pathway to academic and personal success while building a foundation for lifelong health and well-being,” said Brittany Badger, director for the Center for Campus Wellness.

As U students already have access to a wide range of services through campus departments, including the Student Health Center, the Basic Needs Collective, and campus recreation and counseling services, the Wellness Hub, which is available to all U students, will help unify those resources and make them it easier for students to connect with people and services for medical care, mental health support or wellness resources.
