Utah students wanted for air quality hackathon—no coding experience needed. Register by April 15.

Calling any and all Utah undergraduate and graduate students who care about air quality or want to sharpen their problem-solving skills: sign up for A Breath of Fresh Air AI Hackathon June 4-5. The University of Utah One-U Responsible AI Initiative is partnering with Amazon Web Services and NVIDIA to host this hybrid event featuring cash prizes, free food and other perks from sponsors. What

  • 48-hour hybrid hackathon—join online or in person
  • Work in a team to create AI-powered solutions for air quality prediction and improvement across the Wasatch Front
  • Free food and refreshments
  • Prizes include cash and perks from Amazon Web Services and NVIDIA

Who/team setup

  • Open to participants from across Utah
  • Teams consist of three to five people, including at least two students
  • If you want to join but don’t have a team, don’t worry—teaming sessions will match like-minded participants
  • No coding experience necessary—Amazon Web Services will offer AI tools and training before and during the event

When/important dates

  • Registration closes on April 15
  • Training sessions will be held in May
  • The 48-hour hackathon will be held June 4–5, and awards will be announced June 6
