The northbound lanes of Guardsman Way will be closed for approximately nine weeks starting on June 9, 2025. Only southbound traffic will be allowed on the road during this time. The only exception will be during the Monster Jam truck rally at Rice-Eccles Stadium, July 4-5.

All parking lots will be open during this time, but must be accessed from the southbound lanes or from 500 South.

The closure is necessitated by a city-required water main upgrade, driven by increased water demand from recent and ongoing developments at the south end of Guardsman Way.

All lanes of traffic should be open by the time the fall semester begins on Aug. 18, 2025.
