Housing & Dining Programs is excited to welcome University of Utah students home from Aug. 12–4. With 5,600 students moving in, please be aware that traffic will increase across campus.
Note the following traffic patterns and changes that may impact you as you navigate campus:
TRAX Red Line is out of service: The TRAX Red Line will be out of service while they wrap up scheduled maintenance. The line will reopen on Aug. 18. Learn more here.
Heavy traffic on campus: We expect to see heavy traffic on 100 S and Student Life Way as students and their guests drive around campus to check in and then move into their residence halls.
Unloading route for residents: Students reserved in Kahlert Village and the Marriott Honors Community will have a unique unloading route that directs them from the A. Ray Olpin Student Union building (1) to the Engineering lot (2), then to their residence hall (3). The sections of Central Campus Drive, Exploration Way and Wasatch Drive highlighted in red below will be congested during move-in. If possible, please avoid utilizing these roads.
Use of the Engineering lot: Housing & Dining Programs will be taking half of the Engineering lot as part of the Move-In route, with increased traffic and pedestrian activity in the area. If you usually park in this lot, please plan accordingly.
