Spring 2024 textbook adoptions due Oct. 20

All faculty teaching one or more courses in the Spring 2024 semester should have received an email from the Office of the Registrar about listing the required textbook or course materials in the Class Schedule at the time of registration, regardless of the preferred purchasing method.

Spring 2024 textbook and course material adoptions are due by Friday, Oct. 20, 2023 to ensure inclusive access is setup and physical books are ordered on time. Submitting your adoptions is simple. If you work with a department coordinator, please continue to do so. Otherwise, please watch for a personalized link to come from our course materials adoption collection software Verba Collect. If you have not received a personalized link, you may request one. The process is designed to be intuitive, but for more in-depth help, please reach out to your department buyer.

Why so early?

Submitting your adoptions early ensures the Campus Store is able to set up Inclusive Access and stock physical books in a timely manner, as well as increases the chances of offering less expensive material.  Additionally, students can get more cash back at the store’s end-of-semester buyback event if their textbooks have been adopted for the following semester.

It is also a federal mandate to adopt textbooks early. The Higher Education Opportunity Act requires that all course materials and their associated costs be disclosed at the time students register for courses (HEOA Sec 133).

The Campus Store relies heavily on your timely response—as do your students—so please do not delay.

For more information or assistance with textbook adoptions or the Inclusive Access program, please contact Heidi Booth at 801-581-5965 orhbooth@CampusStore.utah.edu or Kim Kilpatrick at 801-581-3158 or kkilpatrick@CampusStore.utah.edu.

Thank you for your support and have a great semester.
