The Hinckley Institute of Politics is thrilled to be returning to its’ original live format for the 2022 HIP Talks after two years of going virtual.
Students of any major can participate with an original, two-minute speech on any topic. The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship and five runners-up will receive a $1,000 scholarship. HIP Talks will consist of three entry rounds and the finale. All events will be held at the Hinckley Institute (Gardner Commons, room 2018) on the following dates and times:
- Preliminary Round 1: April 4th, 3-5 p.m.
- Preliminary Round 2: April 5th, 12-2 p.m.
- Preliminary Round 3: April 6th, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
- Finale: April 12th, 6-8 p.m.
Please sign up for one time slot in the preliminary round that works best with your schedule. If you are not selected to compete in the finale, you are welcome to try again during a future preliminary round if spots are available (Please note: if you choose to compete in round 3, there will be no opportunity to compete again).
If there are no available time slots, you are welcome to show up on the day of a preliminary round and compete if spots become available.
