The Financial Wellness Center (FWC) at the University of Utah is excited to announce that it will host the Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance (HEFWA) Summit from July 13th to 16th, 2025. HEFWA is a network of professionals and institutions dedicated to advancing financial wellness in post-secondary education, shaping national discussions, public policy, and educational support services. The FWC will collaborate with the HEFWA directorate to organize the national summit. Since its inception in 2014, the summit has been the premiere venue for bringing together professionals from across the nation to discuss strategies for enhancing financial literacy and well-being among students.
To prepare for this event, the U of U is forming the HEFWA Planning Committee, which will begin meeting regularly in August 2024. Faculty, staff, and students passionate about financial wellness and community engagement are invited to join the committee. Key areas for contribution include sponsorships and community partnerships, student involvement and engagement, participant experience, and outreach and marketing.
“Hosting the HEFWA Summit is a fantastic opportunity for the University of Utah to advance financial wellness in higher education and influence important national conversations,” said Gabrielle McAllaster, Director of the Financial Wellness Center. “We are thrilled to collaborate with our community to create an impactful and unforgettable event that will inspire and empower students and educators alike.”
If you’re interested in joining the planning committee, please contact the co-chairs, Gabrielle McAllaster (gmcallaster@sa.utah.edu) and Beth Hunsaker (bhunsaker@sa.utah.edu).
