Campus landscape water conservation efforts

The University of Utah is taking significant strides to reduce its water use.

We take pride in maintaining, protecting and enhancing our beautiful University of Utah campus through a variety of landscape updates that may be new to some. As visitors travel across campus they may encounter increased areas where grass sod has dried out and become brown due to water conservation efforts. Additional areas of sod have been reduced or replaced with dry-scaping that incorporates a variety of native plans to Utah that are more drought resistant. The U has made these improvements to reduce its total water use across campus throughout the year. We hope you will agree that from almost every angle, the U is a beautiful, sustainable campus to visit.

Check out the many ways the U is conserving water and other sustainability initiatives with the interactive Sustainability Dashboard.
