Longtime university employee Jennifer Reed has been named University of Utah associate vice president for Auxiliary Services. The university’s Chief Financial Officer Cathy Anderson announced the appointment this week.
“Jennifer has been an integral part of the University of Utah for years,” Anderson said. “Her previous experience has prepared her well for this role and we look forward to the good work she will do.”
Reed previously worked as the director of Auxiliary Services, University Student Apartments and UCard Services. She oversaw the day-to-day operations for the auxiliary administrative office and business services in addition to directing unique initiatives and special projects for all auxiliary services departments. In her new role, she will be responsible for the over 600 Auxiliary Service employees and manage an annual operating budget of more than $75 million.
“I am thrilled to continue my career at the University of Utah as the associate vice president of Auxiliary Services,” Reed said. “The teams of incredibly dedicated people in these business units are providing services to the campus community that enhances the experience of students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors alike. I am committed to leading their continued success through this exciting period of rapid growth and change at the institution.”
Auxiliary Services houses 10 departments at the university including commuter services, the campus store, student apartments, print and mail services, UCard services, managed print services, stadium and arena event services, fleet services, auxiliary administrative and shared services and auxiliary business development.
Reed replaces Gordon Wilson, who retired after 11 years. She began on Oct. 16.
