The Utah System of Higher Education is launching the state’s first simplified and guaranteed admissions initiative designed with access for all students in mind. AdmitUtah.org will serve as a central platform for students, families and educators to navigate the college admissions process seamlessly. This initiative complements the guaranteed admissions pilot program launched by the University of Utah earlier this year, Utah Direct.

“Admit Utah marks a significant milestone in our efforts to ensure that every Utah student has access to a quality college education,” said Cydni Tetro, Utah Board of Higher Education member. “This platform will provide students with even more clarity and simplicity in the college application process, empowering them to pursue their educational aspirations with confidence.”

Key Features

Guaranteed College Admission

Every Utah high school student will receive a notification of their guaranteed admission to one or more of the 16 public colleges and universities in Utah, regardless of their GPA, making higher education more accessible than ever before.

Guidance for Undecided Students

The Admit Utah platform will provide resources to assist undecided students in exploring their options and offer financial aid guidance, helping them find the best fit among in-state public institutions.

Integration with K-12 Education

The initiative enhances the integration of college preparation into Utah’s K-12 education system, ensuring students are better informed and prepared for the next steps in their academic journey.

In time for Utah high school College Application and Financial Aid Awareness Month events, AdmitUtah.org will give seniors real-time admissions updates and guidance on completing their applications during October and beyond.

“This initiative paves the way for students to pursue their academic goals without unnecessary obstacles,” said Geoffrey Landward, Commissioner of Higher Education. “We firmly believe that every Utah student deserves the opportunity to succeed in college, and we are confident that ‘Admit Utah’ will be instrumental in making that a reality.”

Looking ahead, Admit Utah will further streamline admissions processes through enhanced data integration with K-12 schools and integrate AI technology, providing students with real-time assistance as they navigate the admissions process.
