Lauren’s Lap: 1K, 5K and 10K race and festival 

Lauren’s Lap, a festival and race hosted by the Lauren McCluskey Foundation, is running your way on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The race has expanded for its third year with the addition of the festival that aims to further engage the community participating in the 1K, 5K and 10K races.

Attendees can expect family-friendly activities, guest speakers and food and drink vendors throughout the day. Register in advance to save your spot to get family photos with University of Utah mascot, Swoop, and Salt Lake Bee’s mascot Bumble the Bee.

Lauren’s Lap is designed to bring together students, faculty, staff, community members and their family and friends to raise awareness and support for victims of relationship violence and stalking while also promoting a culture of respect, empathy and inclusivity. The event promotes healthy relationships and campus safety in honor of Lauren McCluskey.

Race check-in and opening announcements begin at 9 a.m. at the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex on (South Wasatch Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84112) with the 10K and 5K beginning an hour later, and the 1K race staggered 15 minutes thereafter.

Participants may walk or run the fast, flat course that intersects the Wasatch Mountains and U landmarks. Individuals and teams of family, friends, co-workers and more are welcome. Show your support for campus safety by registering here.
