The Office for Global Engagement (OGE) is offering grants of up to $10,000 for departmental or interdisciplinary teams composed of a minimum of three faculty members to improve global learning as part of the Global Learning Across the Disciplines (GLAD) project at the U. We define global learning “as the knowledge, skills and attitudes that students acquire through a variety of experiences that enable them to understand world cultures and events, analyze global systems, appreciate cultural differences and apply this knowledge and appreciation to their lives as citizens and workers” (Olsen, Green and Hill, 2006).

The Office for Global Engagement (OGE) has established this award to recognize faculty and staff contributions to the university’s global dimension and those who have demonstrated excellence in providing support to international students, students participating in learning abroad and/or global internship programs, international partnership development that engages students and other programs that provide significant opportunities for global learning either on campus or abroad.

One faculty member and one staff member will be awarded (two awards). This is an annual award for which OGE seeks nominations each spring semester. The award selection and ceremony is held in early April each year. The OGE will be seeking nominations from across campus from faculty, staff and students.
