Advisor of the Month is a peer-nominated award in which staff on campus who have academic advising roles can give their advising peers recognition for their ability to go above and beyond in their roles and in the support they provide to students.
The current advisor of the month is Madeline Rossman an academic advisor at the David Eccles School of Business.
A colleague described Rossman as a “force of nature” and another as “tireless.” Rossman has made significant contributions to the school’s mandatory advising practices in order to help more students and remove holds more efficiently. Several coworkers commented on the changes she has implemented to help see the school’s nearly 1200 first-year students. This year the business school connected with 35% more students than last year.
Rossman shared the following about her role as an advisor:
“I am thrilled to be named UAAC advisor of the month! I got into advising because I enjoy breaking down barriers for students, so that they may thrive at school. My wish is for every student to feel like they belong at the U and deserve to flourish here, and I am happy to do what I can to carve out that space for students.”
Congratulations!
