A profound new play: ‘A Case for the Existence of God’

Pioneer Theatre Company proudly presents an intimate Utah premiere of “A Case for the Existence of God” by Samuel D. Hunter. Set in a small-town loan office, the story follows two very different men: Keith, a mortgage broker, and Ryan, a yogurt plant worker. Amid discussions about loans and financial challenges, the two develop an unlikely friendship when their conversations shift to more personal topics, delving into the difficulties of parenthood and feelings of insecurity. Through a mix of humor, empathy, and raw honesty, Hunter’s play beautifully advocates for hope, even in the face of disappointment.

Starring in the production are PTC newcomers, Jon Hudson Odom (Steppenwolf’s “No Man’s Land”) as Keith, and Lee Osorio (Atlanta Shakes’ “Richard II”) as Ryan. Returning to PTC is Timothy Douglas (“Native Gardens”) who will direct. Learn about them and their experience with this play in our video.

“A Case for the Existence of God” runs from March 28 to April 12 at the Meldrum Theatre in the Einar Nielsen Field House. Tickets are available at pioneertheatre.org or by calling PTC’s Box Office at 801-581-6961.
