A new batch of light-post banners in recognition of the U’s phenomenal faculty has been installed as the latest iteration of the Provost’s Banner Project. The banners, with the theme “Educating with Impact,” are on display on South Temple, between 500 East and 1300 East, and on University Street between 200 South and 400 South.
This is the fourth installment of the Banner Project, which was initiated in 2020 as a way to recognize the impact of research during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year’s project highlighted researchers at the U. This year, the banners feature faculty members who have not yet participated in the banner project and were selected to receive high-profile university-wide awards. In many cases, the award winners were selected by a committee of deans, department chairs and previous winners, then granted final approval by the Board of Trustees.
