The yearly concert RedFest, organized by the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 6 p.m. on the Student Union lawn.

A noise variance has been secured from Salt Lake City and will be valid from 2-11 p.m.

Who is Migos?

This year’s headliner is Grammy-nominated music group Migos, with special guest Aminé. Migos has recently collected a wave in impressive accolades including the group’s appearance on the cover of the January edition of Rolling Stone magazine, tow 2017 nominations, boasting the most concurrently-charting singles of the billboard 100, over 27 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and over 700 million views on the YouTube video for their hit single “Bad and Boujee.” Aminé has also garnered a significant attention through his debut album “Good for You” with its hit single “Caroline.” The song peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts before being certified three-times platinum.

Why Migos?

Migos and Aminé were selected as artists to perform by a committee of 12 students and professional staff members based on their popularity and entertainment value for campus. After weighing popularity metrics via sources such as Spotify and Pandora, as well as university student feedback, Migos was selected as the uncontested most popular and exciting headliner within the intended price and date constraints.

Traffic and Noise Impacts:

Directional signage will be placed around campus to ensure proper flow of traffic. The University of Utah promotes sustainable transportation whenever possible. Students, faculty and staff can ride TRAX and UTA for free with their valid university ID.

Sound checks could begin as early as 2 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. University security will be present as they are at all campus events with large crowd.

Why does ASUU sponsor RedFest?

The committee’s primary objective with Redfest programming, is to provide the most value possible to students through a single engaging and entertaining music concert.

How do I get tickets?

University students can receive one free ticket with a valid U student ID and $5 for a second.

General public: $35 per ticket
