Youth Education at the University of Utah is excited to announce faculty and staff receive a 15% discount on tuition of all their camps and classes for summer 2021. With both in-person and virtual offerings, there are several options for parents and kids to choose from.
“With subjects ranging from robotics and game design to drawing and cooking, our classes can offer a fun and educational reprieve to traditional online learning,” said Holly Newell, program manager for Youth Education. “They are also a great way for kids to meet new friends and stay engaged with their peers during the summer months. “
Club U day programs are back and being held in-person for students 5-11. Each week is treated as a standalone experience, so whether a camper joins for one week or the entire summer they will have the same opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, and have fun!
Virtual offerings are also expanding with Campus Camps and Pre-College at the U programs which give students ages 6-17 a chance to invest in the right kind of screen time this summer.
“I was really impressed with how organized it was even with how the class was changed from in person to digital. The teacher led the class well and had great interactions with the kids through zoom. We are grateful for the fun time and how much the kids were able to accomplish with the programing.”

Youth Education is also already starting to plan for summer 2022 and are looking for departments to partner with to help grow their Major Exploration offerings. Major Exploration camps offer high school students an opportunity to explore a specific subject area, future professions and get a taste of college life. Course curriculum is designed by a University of Utah department and taught by the U’s faculty, staff or students. Any interested parties should email youth@utah.edu.
