Service project opportunity for the FeedU Pantry at Employee Appreciation Day

The University of Utah’s annual Employee Appreciation Day (EAD) brings together University employees for a day of free food, games, entertainment and, maybe most importantly, an opportunity to participate in a service project to help those in need. The EAD planning team is excited to announce that this year’s EAD service project will benefit the Feed U Pantry.

The Feed U Pantry aims to minimize hunger among University of Utah students, their families and faculty and staff by providing free, accessible and nutritious food. They strive to empower those in need to obtain food resources so they may focus on being healthy, happy and successful at the University of Utah without the barrier of fighting hunger.

Guests will be able to tour the Feed U Pantry’s new van, and help create candy kits and write thank-you notes for Feed U Pantry volunteers. Information will also be available on how to volunteer, how to access the Feed U Pantry at its Union location or satellite locations, and how to schedule the Feed U Mobile Pantry to come to your building on campus.

If you are a University of Utah, HCI or U of U Health employee or student employee, be sure to mark your calendar for Employee Appreciation Day on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium and stop by the Feed U Pantry van to participate in this much needed service project.

There are many other activities and entertainment opportunities at this year’s EAD—we recommend you check back frequently on the EAD website for more information on what to expect at this year’s event. We hope to see you there.

If you are a campus department or group who would like to table at EAD this year, please contact Jake Sorensen at jake.sorensen@utah.edu.
