Women’s Resource Center scholarships

The Women’s Resource Center has been awarded funding for the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship, Crankstart Reentry Scholarship and the Colleen Harker, M.D. Women in Medicine Scholarship.

Boundless Opportunity Scholarship: The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) has again been awarded funding for the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship for the 2019-20 school year. The WRC has been a recipient of the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship since 2013 and has supported five cohorts of students who are attending and completing their education at the University of Utah. The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship is designed to benefit motivated non-traditional students who recognize the power of education to create a better life for themselves and their families. The program helps hardworking students invest in their own potential through continued education.

Crankstart Reentry Scholarship: The Women’s Resource Center has been awarded funding for the Crankstart Reentry Scholarship for the 2019-20 school year. Reentry students are defined as individuals who have experienced an interruption in their education of five or more years and who want to resume their education at the undergraduate level. This scholarship is intended to benefit students who are:

  • Pursuing their first baccalaureate degree
  • Anticipating workforce participation for a significant period of time subsequent to graduation
  • Demonstrating a financial need
  • Showing academic promise and a commitment to degree completion
  • The scholarship amount is up to 2,500 per semester and must be used for tuition only.

Colleen Harker, M.D. Women in Medicine Scholarship: The Women’s Resource Center has been awarded funding for the Colleen Harker, M.D. Women in Medicine Scholarship. The Colleen Harker, M.D. Women in Medicine Scholarship is a new scholarship for the Women’s Resource Center. This scholarship was created to support self-identified women who are pursuing a career in medicine. While not limited to pre-med majors students must show they are pursuing pre-requisites leading to application and attendance at the U’s School of Medicine. Additionally, this scholarship is open to current medical students. Scholarship monies apply to (but are not limited to) tuition costs, the MCAT and admissions application fees.
