University pursues Brownfield grant for downtown property

The University of Utah Research Foundation and Real Estate Administration offices have recently completed a Full Site Characterization of the contaminated “Station Center” property in downtown Salt Lake City, which it purchased approximately two years ago.  The 1.89-acre property consists of 7 parcels at 400 South and 560 West in Salt Lake City’s Depot District.  Based on the environmental condition of the property and the availability of federal grant monies for cleaning up impaired properties critical to the plans and needs of our community, the university is in the final stages of completing a grant application for up to $2 million in clean-up funds, necessary to bring this property to its full community potential.

We invite you to become informed and share your ideas and feedback on how this university asset could ultimately add value to this area of downtown Salt Lake City.  Please join us for a virtual presentation and discussion – including time for questions and answers—on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.  Please email Michael.Brehm@EHS.Utah.edu to RSVP and to receive a link to the virtual meeting.
