Understanding the Science panel: COVID-19 vaccine

Hear from experts on the science of the vaccine, community response, and what this means for our future.

The University of Utah College of Science and Intuitive Funding will launch their quarterly virtual lecture series, Understanding the Science, with a panel discussion addressing the COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. Hear from experts on the science of the vaccine, community response, and what this means for our future.

The panel, moderated by Tom Thatcher of Intuitive Funding, includes:

  • Ryan Looper, chemist at the University of Utah
  • Fred Adler, mathematician at the University of Utah
  • Rep. Jennifer Dailey-Provost, Utah State Representative
  • Joe Jarvis, epidemiologist

The webinar will address the science of the vaccine, information on community spread and what we can expect for the future; policy insight on vaccine roll-out; and what this may mean for Utah’s economy as we move into 2021. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions during registration that may be addressed by the panelists during the discussion.

Understanding the Science is a lecture series sponsored by the U College of Science and Intuitive Funding, an organization designed to encourage entrepreneurship and support the community. The purpose of the series is to bring scientific experts, government leaders, and community advocates together to discuss issues facing Utah and Utahns.
