Two David Eccles School of Business masters programs achieve impressive rankings

Two graduate programs at the David Eccles School of Business have risen to the top 10 and top 5 of rankings in their respective categories.

According to the annual rankings published by TFE Times, the Master of Science in Finance program is ranked #9 in the nation, moving up one spot from #10 last year, while the Master of Science in Business Analytics program came in at #5, up one spot from #6.

“We are so pleased to see these two stellar programs receive this recognition,” said Mark Parker, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs in Business at the Eccles School. “We continuously strive to improve these programs to ensure our graduates are prepared to contribute and succeed. Our students see an incredible return on the time, effort, and tuition they invest in themselves by pursuing these graduate degrees.”

The Master of Science in Finance program is designed to develop innovative thinkers who will lead the next generation of financial professionals. The program prepares tomorrow’s financial leaders to react to the ever-changing industry and redefine their own institutions.

“I am thrilled to see public recognition of the improvements happening in the Masters of Science in Finance program,” commented Program Director Brian Johnson. “There has been a tremendous investment of time and energy by everyone in the program to take what’s already great and make it better–not just improvements in faculty and classroom learning, but with a focus on the total experience and success of our students.”

The Master of Science in Business Analytics program equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to compete in the rapidly growing market for analytics and data science professionals. The program is designed to meet the needs of companies in the private and public sectors for executives, analysts, and specialists with advanced training in analytics technology and business management. Students exit the program ready to enter the world of big data.

Program Director Jeff Webb said, “This new TFE ranking of the MSBA program reflects the phenomenal efforts of our dedicated faculty and their personalized focus every student.”

Programs receive an overall score based on the following components:

  • 30% Mean GMAT Scores
  • 25% Mean Starting Salary and Bonus
  • 15% Mean Undergraduate GPA
  • 15% Acceptance Rate
  • 10% Full-Time Graduates Employed at Graduation
  • 5% Full-Time Graduates Employed 3 Months after Graduation
