The UTA TRAX Red Line service to Rice-Eccles Stadium will be unavailable during the June 7 match. The Red Line closure is part of a larger UTA project that will keep the Red Line closed between Courthouse and University Medical Center Stations through August 17. The Red Line is expected to reopen on Aug. 18.
Red Line trains will be rerouted at Courthouse and follow the Blue Line to Salt Lake Central Station during construction. UTA warns that significant delays of up to 45 minutes can be expected, so riders should plan ahead and adjust their travel as required.
Detours
Passengers traveling to the University of Utah should plan to transfer to bus routes 1,2, or 4 at Gallivan Plaza Station. Increased bus service will be provided on these routes to accommodate TRAX Red Line riders.
- Route 2: Bus frequency will increase from every 15 minutes to every 7-8 minutes along the same detour route.
- Route 4: Additional trips will run between Gallivan Plaza Station and Stadium Station, stopping near the Library, Trolley and 900 East Stations on 400 South. Regular route 4 service will not be affected.
FrontRunner riders whose travel destinations are east of Main Street on the Red Line are encouraged to transfer to route 2 at Salt Lake Central Station rather than transferring at Murray Central Station.
Pre/post-match transportation
Before and after the match, the following options will be available:
- Courthouse Shuttle: Buses picking up at the Courthouse will run direct routes to and from the stadium. These will drop off on 500 South before the event and pick up on 500 South after the event for return trips.
- Library/400 South Shuttle: An additional shuttle route will serve the Library and 400 South. These buses will be staged on University Street for egress following the match.
- UTA Bus Staging: All UTA buses will be staged on 500 South, east of the stadium.
