“This is Utah” back for season 2

Four new stories about the place we call home.

This Is Utah returns with all-new episodes Thursday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. on PBS Utah. The four-part, weekly series celebrates what makes Utah unique.

In this season, This Is Utah Host and Story Producer Liz Adeola travels across the state exploring locales off the beaten path: from Helper to Cedar City and Joe’s Valley to Nine Mile Canyon. Utah is a wellspring of vibrant stories, and season two highlights the diverse people, organizations, arts, culture, events, and landscapes that make Utah such a distinctive and delightful place.

Adeola said, “The stories in this season of This Is Utah will move people, touch their hearts, and make them proud to call Utah home.”

The first episode, All The World’s A Stage gives viewers a glimpse into Utah’s arts and cultural community. From theatre to hip hop to fashion – this rich canvas is a part of what creates the character and vibe of Utah’s communities.

Go behind-the-scenes of the Salt Lake Acting Company’s one-of-a-kind play, Saturday’s Voyeur. For over four decades, the play has affectionately celebrated the peculiarities of Utah and its unique culture.

Discover how 1520 ARTS, a non-profit organization, uses hip hop as a viable path to achieve success not only on the dance floor but in life itself. Its focus is on growing the hip hop community through classes on street art, beginner hip hop, live dance battles in front of cheering crowds, and more.

Learn about Women of the World, a local organization that helps forcibly displaced women from across the globe. Women of the World fosters a sense of hope through its annual fashion show gala.

The remaining three episodes of This Is Utah will provide more stories as told by Utahns. Experience how Utah’s up-and-coming young adults are being recognized for their contributions to the changing face of Utah in Next Gen. Discover what Set In Stone reveals about Utah’s sublime landscape and how important it is to protect Utah’s pristine outdoor spaces. Follow the trailblazers who are transforming Utah’s communities and placing them on the map in If You Build It…

This Is Utah features the stories that represent a collage of all things Utah and reflects the spirit of what it means to be a Utahn. As Utah’s storyteller, PBS Utah is proud to bring these stories to our viewers.
