Skiing wins 2019 NCAA championship

The Utah ski team won its 13th national championship over the weekend and its second overall title in three years. They finished with 530.5 points in the four-day competition held in Stowe, Vt., outpacing Vermont (476), Colorado (455) and Dartmouth (447). Freshman Julia Richter won the NCAA individual title in the women’s 5-km freestyle race and junior Roni Remme finished second in the women’s slalom and giant slalom. Utah’s 12th NCAA overall title (one national championship was in the AIAW for women’s skiing, before the sport became coed) ranks third all-time.
