In April the Hinckley Institute of Politics is kicking off their annual HIP Talks speech contest.
In this university-wide speech competition, students compete for a $5,000 grand prize scholarship by creating an original speech to perform in two minutes or less. Five runner-ups will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Sign-ups for preliminary rounds are now open. Dates and times are as follows:
April 9: 2 to 4 p.m.
April 10: 2 to 4 p.m.
April 11: 12 to 2 p.m.
Students who are rejected on an earlier date may come back try again at a subsequent round.
The finale on Tuesday, April 16 will be held from 6- 8 p.m. and feature approximately 30 students.
