Salt Lake City Marathon 2023 starting line on campus

Campus will host the starting line for the 2023 Salt Lake City Marathon this Saturday, April 22, 2023. Preparations for the race will begin along Wasatch Drive and the surrounding parking lots during the evening hours the Friday before.

Racers are encouraged to utilize their race bibs as valid UTA fare on TRAX, FrontRunner and regular UTA buses for the full day on Saturday, April 22, 2023. TRAX will run extra early morning trains to the University of Utah campus from both Draper starting at 4:18 a.m. and Daybreak at 4:07 a.m. View the schedules here: PDF or Excel. The U Medical Center stop (end of the line on campus) is located adjacent to the staging area and starting line.

STARTING TIMES:

  • 6 a.m. | Bike Tour
  • 6:20 a.m. | Wheelchair and Hand Cycle
  • 6:50 a.m. | Pre-start ceremony for full and half marathons
  • 7 a.m. | Marathon and Half Marathon
  • 7:15 a.m. | Clean-up of start line begins

Free parking is available at all TRAX stations south of Ballpark Station (including Ballpark Station). You can also park in one of the 9,000+ paid parking places that are closer to downtown ($3-10 for the morning on average) and travel up to the University of Utah to start via the RED or BLUE line on TRAX. TRAX and UTA, our invaluable partners in providing exceptional service to our race participants, will add extra train cars on race day to increase capacity.
